About Jessica
My passion for sports has come at a
young age. Growing up in North Carolina, I actively played rec soccer at the
age of five till eighth grade in the Raleigh, Durham, and Chapel Hill, areas.
Going into ninth grade I wanted a change in sports and fell in love with the
game of lacrosse. It was a growing sport in the area and there were many teams
just starting up programs. Throughout high school I played lacrosse in the year
round for my school team as well a travel team in the summers. When I was not
playing lacrosse you could catch me playing softball in the fall for a rec
team. Wanting to play at the next level in lacrosse I focused my last two years
of high school on lacrosse. It was a pleasure playing at the collegiate level
and I would not have taken anything from my experience.
Having attended many live sporting events and playing them as well, it has been my dream to work within sports. Throughout the courses so far in the Sport Management program, it has taught me the importance of how to run an organization. Though my internship I have had the opportunity to coach individuals on the sport I love, lacrosse. Besides coaching individuals I have had the experience to learn some new sports myself. Once I have completed my MBA in Sport Management, I hope to know where my next step will be to guide me on my journey through sports. I am very thankful for all of those who have helped me to be where I am today.
